Positive balance of the first event of the Leopoldina Academy Circle of Friends

The first event of the Leopoldina Academy Circle of Friends on the 27^th of October 2008 in Berlin was a complete success. Together with the Verein Berliner Kaufleute und Industrieller (VBKI), the Circle of Friends had invited Leopoldina member Prof. Dr Hans-Joachim Schellnhuber, Director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, to give a lecture on the topic of “Reinventing Modernity - Climate and Energy Security in the 21st Century”.
