German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina

The Leopoldina is one of the oldest academies of science in the world. Founded in 1652, it is committed to shaping the future and has an obligation to free science for the good of humanity. With about 1600 members, the Leopoldina gathers and connects scientists from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and numerous other countries.

The Leopoldina has been representing science in Germany since 2008 as the National Academy of Germany in international committees and comments on political and scientific question on a scientific basis.
