On the 11th of October 2021, the Leopoldina Academy Circle of Friends e.V. invited its members to this year's members’ assembly.
After no events could be held due to the effects of Corona last year, the Board of the Leopoldina Academy Circle of Friends reg. ass. was all the more pleased to welcome its members to the Leopoldina's lecture hall in Halle (Saale).
In addition to a report by the Chairperson, Prof. Dr Jutta Schnitzer-Ungefug, on the work of the Freundeskreis since the last members’ assembly in 2019, two guests were welcomed.
First, the President of the Leopoldina, Prof. Dr Gerald Haug, provided information via video link about the work of the Leopoldina in the recent crisis period. Afterwards, Prof. Dr. Rainer Godel, head of the Leopoldina Centre for Science Research, was able to present an overview of the interaction of his department with the Johann-Lorenz-Bausch-Scholarship holders financed by the Leopoldina Academy circle of Friends in the past years.
Furthermore, in a resolution, Dr.-Ing. Horst Dietz, who was present, was declared an honorary member of the Leopoldina Academy Circle of Friendsreg. Ass. because of his outstanding services as former Chairperson of the Board.
