Lighting concept of the new main building of the Leopoldina

In the new headquarters of the Leopoldina on the Jägerberg in Halle (Saale), the lighting in the historical rooms (ballroom, lecture hall, lounge and foyers) forms an important component.

In the building, which was reconstructed according to historical models and in compliance with the preservation order, the interplay between history and modernity is achieved on the one hand by installing historical luminaires and on the other hand by placing light stelae. The Leopoldina Academy Circle of Friends has contributed substantially to the financing of this lighting. This project, for which 60,000 Euros were made available, is the largest single project made possible by the Circle of Friends to date.
